Guardian Air Transport - Non-injury incident

Date: 10/20/2010 2030 MST

Program: Guardian Air Transport
	6639 S. Piper Ln.

Type: Pillatus PC12
Tail #: N116SK
Operator/Vendor: Air Methods

Team: Pilot, Nurse, Paramedic. No injuries reported. No patient.

Description:
At approximately 2030, N116SK was on a return leg from Albuquerque,
NM, to Show Low, AZ, when, about 20 minutes from arrival, the crew
noticed a flash off the right wing tip. There were no avionics
issues, nor changes in flight integrity. The crew and pilot decided
to proceed to Show Low, AZ. Upon inspection from the base mechanic and
pilot, it appears that lightning struck the prop and front engine and
exited the right wing tip. Minimal damage was noted, however, the
aircraft will undergo an extensive inspection and engine replacement.
No crew or pilot issues/concerns were expressed.
